This page is for police and other authorities who need information about an account or an ad. It is public on purpose: people should be able to read the rules under which their data can be handed over.
Send requests on official letterhead, signed, from an official domain. Add your contact details so we can verify the request. The address is on the Help & Support page until a dedicated one is published here.
We check that the request is valid and specific, and we give only what it actually asks for. We do not hand over more because it would be easier.
Where there is a real risk to someone's life or safety, mark the request urgent and say why. We will treat it that way.
We may tell a user that their data was requested, unless we are legally required not to.
