Buying and selling safely

Most people on this site are genuine. These few habits keep the rest from costing you anything.

Never pay in advance. Not a booking amount, not a delivery fee, not a "refundable" deposit. Pay when you have the item in your hands.
Never share an OTP, UPI PIN or card number. No genuine buyer or seller needs any of them. Receiving money never requires your PIN.
Do not scan a QR code to RECEIVE money. Scanning always sends money out. This is the single most common scam on classifieds sites.
Be careful with prices that look far too good. They usually are.

Meet in a busy public place in daylight. Take somebody with you if you can.
Inspect the item fully before any money changes hands, and check the serial number, papers or bill where there is one.
For a vehicle or a property, verify the ownership documents yourself. Do not accept photographs of them.

Use the on-site chat. It keeps a record, and you do not have to hand over your phone number to start talking.
If somebody pushes you to move to another app straight away, treat that as a warning sign.

Use Report ad on any listing that looks fraudulent, is already sold, or is in the wrong place. Reports reach our moderation team.
Use Block seller to stop seeing a seller's ads. Blocking is private — they are not told.
If you have lost money, report it to your bank immediately and to the national cybercrime helpline 1930 (cybercrime.gov.in).
